Cardiff by the Sea
Located between the beach towns of Encinitas and Solana Beach, Cardiff is a beautiful town full of character. From local landmark, The Cardiff Kook, to local businesses like V.G. Doughnuts, Seaside Market, and more, it’s no wonder that Cardiff is one of San Diego’s favorite beach towns. A small town of about 10,000 people, Cardiff boasts some of the best surfing and the most beautiful real estate in San Diego. Founded in 1911, developer J. Frank Cullen was persuaded by his wife to name it after the English town of Cardiff. Many of the major streets in Cardiff are named after famous English places like Manchester, Birmingham, and Oxford.
